Graduation 2008

Well the big day finally came: Graduation from Preschool. I have to admit that I cried. I ahve no idea why I cried; it wasn't a big surprise that he was graduating nor was it an incredibly moving ceremony but none-the-less, the minute he walked through the door and took his seat the tears started rolling.
JT has asked every day since when kindegarten starts. We keep trying to explain that he needs to relax and enjoy his summer.

Zach was fascinated with the sherbert/sprite punch that they made for the graduation party.

Losing

Earlier this week Rick reported on a conversation from the back of the Mazda. For some reason JT was calling Zach a loser to which Zach repeatedly said "I not a woser."

Thursday I went with Rick to his softball practice. He is now on a co-ed team and for some strange believes that I will be playing as well. I tried batting slow-pitch for the first time and have decided that I probably won't be playing but agreed to be there to cheer them on.

After practice was over we went to the track so I could get in a few laps. JT ran the first lap with me and as we were coming around to where Rick and Zach were sitting he decided to slow down and walk. Rick said Zach was eating a snack and then stopped and announced, "JT is wosing!"

One More Cubs Photo

One of the mom's on the team captured this photo of the boys on the jumbotron at the park. A highlight of the evening for both the players and coaches.

Addendum to 7th Inning Stretch

I forgot to mention that JT hit a real double in the final game (as opposed to a tball double, which is often time the result of or fielders over-throwing a ball to first and overzealous coaches advancing runners). A week later he is still talking about his great hit and the possibility that it changed the course of the game.

Cubs Pool Party

I was having some blog photo issues and couldn't get these to load with my previous post. These photos are from our end of season party.

7th Inning Stretch

I apologize for not getting the blog updated sooner. Some days it feels like there are only 8 hours in my day instead of 24. There is just always so much to get done.
We kicked off one of our busiest weekends this summer with a Friday night Round Rock Express game with friends from the SAHD group. It was a fabulous evening, cool weather, great game, and post-game fireworks.

Saturday was our final tball game, which was followed by closing ceremonies (code word for another trophy). We then went to another Round Rock Express game with our Cubs team. It was another great night although parents and kids were a bit wilder than on Friday night and unfortunately there were no fireworks.

On Sunday we celebrated our fabulous tball season with a team pool party. All the kids had a fabulous time swimming and playing tennis.

The end of season was bittersweet. We were definitely worn out by the end of the season and happy to be done but sad since this our last leason with the Sam Bass league (long story but they lost their fields to the City). We are looking for a league that will hopefully let us play fall ball with a few of the families since we've enjoyed playing with for the past three seasons.
All the activity this weekend made us both wonder how we will handle two boys in sports especially when they get older.

Happy Birthday Harper

That is the birthday girl sitting on the table.

We helped Harper celebrate her 5th birthday this weekend. As expected, Betsy put together a fabulous party with lots of games that kept the kids entertained even it was in the upper 90s.

Best Buddies

When Rick and JT first joined the stay at home dad's group Emily and Bella were two of JT's first friends. It is hard to believe that is has been almost 5 years. I can't wait to see what the next 5 years bring.

Tuckered Out

It was another busy weekend. We had a t-ball game and then helped Harper celebrate her 5th birthday. Zach couldn't stay awake on the car ride. Notice his new, very chic Thomas shades.

Snake (Don't Look Aunt Reah!)

I Scream, You Scream (JT Style)

Not nearly as messy as his brother.

I Scream, You Scream (Zach Fu Style)

It has started to get hot in Texas. Our air conditioner has already started running. Here is Zach with the first of many ice cream nights on the deck.

Wii are Worried

Zach seems to be forming a new lexicon.

On Saturday he was playing with JT's nerf basketball hoop and when I walked in he said:
"Mom, you play? I click on you so you play?"

Saturday night after their baths the boys were on the bed with Rick and Zach asked Rick if he wanted to box. Zachy started jumping around on the bed and said "I make you lose pro status."
